The number one question I get when it comes to choosing the right nutritional program is, “Which meal will help me lose the most weight?”
My response is always, “All of them.”
You’re probably squinting by now, holding that curious gaze that most clients give me when I tell them the same answer.
The truth is that when it comes to choosing the right nutritional program for you, don’t choose a program that helps others reach their goals. The key is to choose a nutritional program that helps you reach your goals!
Following The Latest Diet Trend
In today’s world, there are so many nutritional programs to choose from. I can see why clients can be skeptical of which one can deliver the best results. Weight Watchers, Keto, Intermittent Fasting, calorie counting, and juice cleanse (the least of my favorites), are just a few of today’s diet trends.
For years people fall in line and follow the latest diet trend before evaluating whether or not it’s a fit for their lifestyle and body’s nutritional needs.
Furthermore, because of the influence social media plays in today’s world, it’s much easier to be enticed by these trends. With everyone #‘ing their latest diet fad results on Insta-stories, it’s become easier to believe that we can mirror the same results.
But that is not always true. What works for someone might not work for you.
Choose a Nutritional Program that Fits your Lifestyle
When it comes to picking the right nutritional program, it all comes down to the one fundamental workout rule, “Listen to your body!”
Don’t think about how much your friend or co-workers lost to Keto for the last 6 months. Think about your lifestyle, along with your weight loss goals. Make sure that the plan you choose fits your active lifestyle.
For example, if you need to be told exactly what to eat in detail, then a personalized balanced meal plan could be a fit for you.
If you have the time to log your food in and are experienced enough to utilize a food logging app, then you should consider calorie counting.
Some people feel comfortable counting points. If you fell the same way, then you should consider Weight Watchers.
If your body makes great changes on a low or no carb diet, then you may want to consider the Keto diet.
Stay Committed to Your Nutrition Program
Commitment is the key to reaching your goals. The faster you stay committed, the quicker you will see results.
First, make sure you have an idea of which nutritional plan will work best for you. Second, make sure to have a plan that helps you reach your body goals. Most importantly, you have to stay committed.
If you put in 100% effort, you’ll know if your body reacts positively to the nutritional plan you choose.
Whichever nutritional program you decide to try, commit to it! Follow the plan for enough time to know whether it works for you or not.
Most importantly, always consult with your nutritional specialist before the start of any nutritional program. If you don’t have one, let’s talk! I would love to help you choose a nutritional program that could help you get fit and stay fit!
